Ed Wood (Johnny Depp) was probably one of the worst movie directors and producers in the world. But he was such a free spirit that even his badness is watchable. There are people who love to watch "bad" films with bad production and bad actors. One of these movie buffs told me one time: "Anybody can make a good movie; it takes a real genius to make a really bad one and those are the ones worth watching."
Ed is one carefree spirit. One of the funniest scenes is when our cross-dresser appears in one of his movies dressed as a woman, complete with his mustache. He is so naive that he doesn't seem to even think that someone else might find this disturbing, namely his girl friend (Sarah Jessica Parker). Ed had to be a good man because he certainly came to the aid of his old friend Bela Lugosi, who played Dracula for Ed.
