Historical Background:

The musical "Florodora"  opened on Broadway in November 1900 after having ran for more than 400 performances in London. In the musical, six girls sang the song "Tell Me Pretty Maiden."  The group came to be known as the Florodora Sextette and they attracted a great deal of attention.  Their reputation was enhanced when some reviewers called them the most beautiful women on the stage.

In the Florodora Sextette were Margaret Walker, Daisy Green, Marjorie Relyea, Vaughn Texsmith, Marie Wilson, and Agnes Wayburn. Over time women dropped out to be replaced by others.

The show closed early 19O2.
