Starring:     Max von Sydow (Jesus), Charlton Heston (John the Baptist), Carroll Baker (Veronica),  Angela Lansbury (Claudia),  Sidney Poitier (Simon of Cyrene),  Shelly Winters (woman who is healed), John Wayne (as Roman centurion supervising Christ's crucifixion),  Ed Wynn (Old Aram),  Jose Ferrer (Herod Antipas),  Van Heflin (Bar Amand), Claude Rains (King Herod),  Telly Savalas (Pontius Pilate).

 

As in The Longest Day, there are so many appearances of well-known actors that our attentions are constantly derailed from the message of the movie.  The movie is just o.k.
