One of the most memorable speeches ever given was that of the famous Yankee baseball play Lou Gehrig (Gary Cooper): "Today I consider myself one of the luckiest men on the face of the earth."  This is nicely caught in the final film sequence.

Gehrig was the teammate of German Herman Ruth and the Babe appears in the film.
